Dr. Becky Campbell is one of the most knowledgeable people out there in the field about all things thyroid disease (which you probably realized if you listened to my podcast with her from a few weeks ago!) The woman is a rockstar, insanely smart, and is a board-certified Doctor of Natural Medicine who has really been there too. Her interest in thyroid conditions started with years of frustration going through the conventional medical system without any relief of her symptoms, which later turned out to be a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.The book dives into the seven main causes of thyroid dysfunction that are keeping you sick, and why we need to go so much more beyond food for true healing, from stress management, to healing gut and liver issues, other hormonal imbalances, addressing heavy metal toxicity or parasites, and the list goes on. And it is, of course, a cookbook – so Dr. Becky breaks down the foods that we should be avoiding to help heal hormonal imbalances and thyroid disease, and the ones we should make sure to include as much as possible to speed along that healing.I’ve personally done a LOT of research on thyroid conditions and healing diets for them, since it runs in my family, and Dr. Becky’s book, the 30-Day Thyroid Reset Plan, is honestly one of the most comprehensive yet easy-to-understand books about thyroid health and healing I’ve ever come across in my years of personal research with my own family’s thyroid conditions and years in school as well. She also goes into exactly what you should do if you suspect you have a thyroid condition – exactly what lab tests to order (which is way beyond what a conventional doctor will typically do!)What I love about this book is it’s not just a 30-day meal plan with a bunch of gorgeous, kickass recipes. But it goes so much deeper than that – into why it’s so important to switch up your makeup and skincare (spoiler alert: because conventional products are full of known endocrine disruptors and carcinogens) and includes lots of recommendations for safer skincare brands, how to use essential oils, and a couple DIY skincare recipes as well if you want to make your own. It also talks about how if you don’t take care of your stress and these environmental triggers that may be keeping you sick, no matter how much you change with your food, you won’t be able to truly heal.

I was so excited to get this in the mail today. Started reading immediately and already love how Dr. Campbell clearly explains her approach to helping diagnose underlying root causes of disease (and how this approach differs from conventional medicine). The recipes look delicious and just what I need to infuse into my weekly menus for my family. And I love that she included DIY recipes for common household needs that actually seem easy and do-able! Order now—you won’t be disappointed.

One of the best investments i have made towards healing my Hashimotos. After multiple doctors let me down, I decided to take things into my own hand and follow the 30-day plan in this book. The immediate changes I felt the first week were mind blowing.Dr. Campbell really explains things in this book in layman's terms that an average person can understand and better treat themselves. I highly recommend this.

This is a wonderful, informative book with delicious recipes. I bought this book as I have family members with thyroid issues. I showed it to my sister and she ordered her own right away. I highly recommend this even if you don't have thyroid issues, you won't be disappointed !! Thank you Dr. Becky for caring and helping so many people.

I bought this book after hearing Dr Campbell’s podcast episode at Real Talk with Dana. After listening to the podcast I felt hungry for more knowledge. I have hypothyroidism and have struggled with it for almost 10 years. I have felt frustrated because my doctor dismisses my symptoms as part of the illness and just recommends medicine without helping me with the symptoms. I was so frustrated.This book has helped me VERY much!! It’s a holistic approach to healing the symptoms that come with thyroid issues. She addresses everything from beauty prouducts, types of exercise recommended, and food to eat to heal your thyroid. I’ve learned SO much!! I’ve been following the guidelines outlined in this book and it has improved my quality of life!! This book has helped me with the relief of symptoms,and even with my depression and anxiety so much.It is geared to people with Hashimotos but if you have hypothyroidism or any thyroid issues I definitely recommend this book! It’s a treasure of knowledge and gives you empowerment over your health!! <3

Very cute and colorful. I love how it's hard cover so the book will stay in good condition.

My daughter’s favorite book (she’s 16 months), even now in June I have to read it to her several times a day. Very cute story resembling tortoise and the hare, with a twist.

This is probably one of my son's favorite books now. The illustrations are well done, I like the paper quality, and it's a cute story. My son loves saying all the characters names as he sees them on the pages.

I bought several copies for the grandkids, they love it. They run over to grab this book for me to read, smiling as they hurry back over with anticipation.

Beautiful book. Full of bright colors. My little girl has me read it over and over again.

My Grandson requested this book every night for the 10 nights I visited. It is a great story of friends and helping others succeed.

The reviewers that gave this book less than 4-5 stars are exactly the people that need to re read this book. We see the world through the lens of memory and everything in our past influences our behavior. While this is not a " how to " manual for solving certain problems step by step with our children, it is a much deeper and longer lasting fix. It helps the reader to self examine and become the kind of parent they want to be instead of the kind of parent that they are programmed to be based on their family history.I think this is a fantastic book for parents that are serious about being the best people they can be for their children. I wish it was written 30+ years ago when I had my first child.If you are fairly intelligent and want to prepare yourself to be the best parent you can be ( any age child ) - do yourself and your kids a favor. Get the book. I wish they taught this stuff in school.

I loved how this book opened. It was about how our childhoods affect how we parent our children. Of course, we all know that, but sometimes we are subconsciously affected in ways we don't realize. Sometimes, we might actively try to correct our parents' wrongs without realizing the negative effects of that reaction. This book makes us more mindful of our actions. It's less of a parenting book (as in how to parent) than a book for understanding ourselves so we can be better parents.At the end of each chapter are exercises and discussion about the science behind it all. My mind numbed a little at times, so you can skip these sections if you want. About midway through the book, I started to feel like the authors droned on a little too long. I get it already; you've made your point. Now how do I put this info to good use? The last quarter of the book, we get some answers, though they are a little vague. There's never really a do it this way or try that. If you want hard core parenting advice, you won't find it here. I found the book useful, though, for making me more self-aware.

I do a lot of work in emotional health and trauma recovery and personally this has been THE biggest game changer of my parenting. It was incredibly easy for me to use my emotional health tools to analyze my child but she was still struggling no matter what I did. I ended up going to therapy JUST to figure out how I could mother such a hard kid and my therapist recommended this book. It is quite difficult for me to read and process but I am hopeful that as I process my own childhood trauma that slowly and steadily I can become a safe place for my daughter. Thank you Dr. Siegel.

This book sheds light on why we act and react in the way that we do when it comes to relationships with our children. It is a nice guide for putting your own life into perspective so that you can bond more deeply with your child. It has been eye opening for me. It is written in a somewhat text book style at a pretty high reading level. It’s very heavy on the neuroscience, which at times can be a tad bit painstaking to decipher and interpret meaning for folks who don’t have any formal scientific background or experience. It also says that it is not a “how to” book but a “how we” book and that is 100% accurate in my assessment. You won’t necessarily learn how to cope with raising your children, you will gain understanding as to why you tend to cope the way that you do cope. This understanding could be very helpful in helping you raise coherent, emotionally secure children. Since starting this book, my capacity for empathy and understanding for both my son and myself has grown immensely. My bottom line on this book is that it is good background knowledge and especially helpful for people who have a sense of unresolved issues from their own childhood. Wouldn’t recommend this as a first book to reach for if you are struggling with parenting issues however. It’s more for people who are looking for deeper resolution to problematic patterns in their parenting journey and for people who enjoy and appreciate neuroscience.

My dil had this book on her wish list and I couldn't refuse. She has been reading it and is really liking how the authors help you parent better based on "Drawing on stunning new findings in neurobiology and attachment research, they explain how interpersonal relationships directly impact the development of the brain, and offer parents a step-by-step approach to forming a deeper understanding of their own life stories, which will help them raise compassionate and resilient children." quote taken from the authors.

This book has been extremely helpful for me. I did not read the whole thing because it got a bit too slow about halfway through, but the first half is worth 5 stars. There are a lot of things that happened in my childhood that I would brush off as irrelevant to my life now, but when I really examine them and come to terms with the good & the bad that is when I know I can grow past them and be the parent that I want to be.I have been a gentle, attachment-oriented parent since having my first baby 6 years ago. But I found that I would sometimes get unbelievably angry at my children, completely out of proportion with the situation, and I couldn't control myself. I would lash out and scare them (though never physically hurt them). I didn't want to be this way, but I didn't know how to stop and to be frank it felt a little good... like I was getting something out when I was yelling at them. Reading this book helped me to understand where those flashes of anger came from. I came by them honestly, just as my parents did. But my parents never bothered to learn how to control themselves. I am now doing MUCH better. When I get angry I clench my fists and yell silently at the sky, then deal with my children in a more subdued way. Sometimes i tell them I am feeling angry, but I no longer scare the pants off them. And I really credit reading this book.

This book contained great explanations for why we fall into particular patterns and I did enjoy having the references to be able to dive in and study more, but I wanted more "how to" than "why" or "what" answers.

There was a long hiatus (25+ years) after my conservatory days and then I went back to singing in choirs. This inevitably lead to some solo work, and the clear recognition that I needed to get back to ongoing voice lessons and learning, even at the age of 50.Some years later now, I can readily say that a couple of fine voice teachers have had me use this varietal volume of classic pieces, both the Low Voice version as a Bass, and in this Medium High version as a Baritone.I move back and forth between the two over the years depending on where my vocal range is.Recommended.

My teacher is convinced that I am soprano. I am not convinced. The music in the book is too high for my novice skills. Trading this one in for a lower voice. In the lower voice of the same book, I am loving it. The registers of the songs is helping me sound better, learning some basic Italian singing along the way. Would be nice if there is a recording for all the pronunciations but that is where Teacher and Youtube comes in. Good book for the beginner and good technique honer for those who knows what they are doing. Good book. Book is good.

Truly a staple for every vocal music major to ever exist. If you do not become best friends with every song in this book, you're doing it wrong. Cue Sebben Crudele, Caro Mio Ben or Per la gloria being stuck in your head for 80 years

This is a great book for younger and older singers. The pieces are easily read (as I get older this becomes more important to me!) and although the recorded accompaniments aren't always helpful to the vocal line it certainly helps to have them for performances. It's much less expensive than paying an accompanist. I use this book for ages 9 and older. The one thing that would make it better would be if the songs were recorded once with the vocal line and again with just the accompaniment. It’s a classic for beginners. All the favorites. Be aware, because the description is slightly misleading, that it does not come with a CD. The accompaniments are online.

Wonderful music. I love this book! Especially good if you have a teacher who knows Italian. Otherwise, not so much... Because itsa in Italian!

This is what it says on the box. If you are here, you know what you want. This one is for higher voices (treble clef). Clean pages and came perfectly intact. If you need some classic songs, go for it!

Thought this came with an accompaniment CD. Instead had a link to the Hal Leonard website to download music. The link is dead. Very difficult to practice for first 10 voice lessons ever - with no accompaniment. Has anyone found a live link to the accompaniment?

My only regret was this book wasn’t around when I was pregnant with my first. I cannot recommend this book enough. I love how she encourages and gives tips on how to find your voice and I love how she challenges all of the current misconceptions surrounding pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with grace, wit, and honesty. Highly recommend this book, not only for pregnant woman, but women who have just given birth, are considering having babies, or are done having babies, as well as doulas, midwives, OBs, and husbands and partners. This book is for you. Truly a great book and one that our society definitely needs.

I am currently pregnant with my second child and have been devouring any pregnancy related book I can get my hands on. Hands down, this has been the most empowering and encouraging book I’ve read! Really helped me I am being honest I learned so much from this book I was a beginner at first but now I know so much now it is a excellent book I am 13 and I am not joking it is very informative

This Freshwater Aquarium guide is so complete and in depth that you just can't compare it with any other, I've been through the guide and I realized how many little crucial mistakes I was making in the way I kept my little fishes. Since using this guide I can see that my fishes are looking better, more active, and the color of their skin has changed to a more vibrant shining color. The guide takes step-by-step an all the little things that needs to be done in order to have a beautiful Freshwater Aquarium.

This book has saved so much of my time. It is so easy to follow and understand. I finally have a clean aquarium, and it doesn't smell anymore :D I am so pleased now that i know how to maintain my aquarium. Good book, good buy, highly recommend. :D

this book is short, which would be fine if it was good. it is way too simple. buy this book if you don't even know what an aquarium is or want to know that the aqua is latin for water. this book makes me wish i could return a kindle book.

Columbia University historian Matthew Connelly frames the Algerian War as a watershed event for France that had repercussions for future conflicts and for Cold War international relations. The book is aptly title The Diplomatic Revolution because the war was not primarily won or lost on the ground between insurgents and counterinsurgents but through political maneuvering. Militarily, the French effectively reduced the FLN's guerrilla force. Politically, however, the French lost the war because they failed to recognize that controlling physical terrain or defeating enemy forces would not seal victory. The FLN, cognizant of its weaknesses in the face of overwhelming French military power, restructured the geometry of the conflict around international opinion.The FLN's ability to leverage world opinion to both prevent the United States from unilaterally backing the French and to prevent the French government from effectively seeking outside assistance was revolutionary. Connelly is the first historian to effectively demonstrate this by synthesizing military, political, and economic history.Connelly's second major intervention is to explain that in losing Algeria, France was freed to follow its own foreign policy independent of the superpowers. This changed the order of the post-colonial world, since France could maintain hegemony even in countries it freed, while neither too strongly supporting either the US or the Soviet Union.Connelly's work is recognized within the historical community as a masterpiece of geo-politics and diplomatic relations. To respond to other reviewers, this is not a "popular history" for casual reading but an academic work that, will deliver in spades if given a sufficiently careful and studied reading.

This diplomatic history of the Algerian independence movement offers insight into the events of the past year, i.e., Iraq II. As the book points out, fifty years ago American stood on the right side of history, and France faced the opposition of the world. Interesting sidenotes include France's dirty tricks by its special forces. Read this history and learn how Dulles and Eisenhower would be doves in the current US administration.

I was assigned to read this book for a Graduate course in History. I agree with the first review that it does shed light on diplomatic history of world issues and parallels can be seen from the Algerian conflict to the situation today with Iraq. I understand this is a book about the international arena of diplomacy and that forces an author to discuss the many nations and their representatives involved. However, as a Graduate student familiar with picking topics for research it would have been better to pick a more isolated topic and examination of the conflict than to take on the entire conflict from all sides. The reason I say this is because as far as from a reader's standpoint keeping all the players straight in this drama became very complicated to follow. I think the author should have included an Appendix at the back of the book listing all the people's names involved so a reader could easily look up their job title and organization they were involved with. Also, the writing went on and on in details ad infinitum that probably could have been skipped and still made the point and prove the argument the author was trying to make. The combination of trying to keep all the players straight within this drama/ conflict with the rambling on of endless details made the book a very tedious reading experience. By the time I got to the last two chapters, honestly, A. I just didn't care anymore about the conflict because the author drove my natural curiosity about history right out of me with the tedious reading experience and B. the prospect of having to read two more tedious chapters with endless details was a torturous thought. I just wanted a fast forward button to get to the point and conclusion of what happened in the end. Granted I came out of reading this book with a truly extensive knowledge of the conflict, but sometimes too much information with endless details makes enjoyment of learning and retaining the information next to impossible. If you're looking for a book that is enjoyable to read and gives you a decent background and history without all the rambling on and on pick another book. If you actually enjoy people rambling on and on, wading through endless details, and seemingly never getting to the point than this is the book for you.
