I enjoyed this book about the Vedas. There is a lot of good information and plenty of quotes to back up the points that the author is making. I felt that the point does get across overall. There are, however, a few forays into what the author interprets the Vedas to mean. For the most part, this doesn't detract from the message. In fact, I appreciated some of the more modern interpretations. I just felt that maybe somebody else wouldn't take the interpretation quite as well as I did. It's a good book and a good introduction to the Vedic literature.

This author, Stephen Knapp also offers other books (in English). Understandable, clear and stays on topic. I recommend all 3 in this series !

This is a great book for those who want to know more about Eastern religions and how they view God. I found it extremely informative. Would recommend it to anyone with an open mind and a search for their own God.

I could not put the book down although some terminology was difficult. Makes you think about the realms beyond our planet!!!

Amazing

The worst book I have ever read on Vedic philosophy. The answers it gives are fundamentalist, very shallow and simplistic. For instance, why do we exist? The answer given in the book is: Because There is a lord, Krishna, if there were no one else in this world, there wouldn't be any meaning because there would be no human to overlord. Really? And this is just one example. The book is full of nonsense like this. I know the rich Vedic philosophy has much more meaningful answers than those. Maybe the author should take a look at the writings of Shankara (I know he doesn't like Shankara because, you know, fundamentalism) or Yoga Vasistha.Waste of money.

Not a good choice, unless you are a highly conservative, fundamentalist practitioner of Hinduism. Full of "wages of sin are..." stuff. Very little love to be seen among the "punishing god" writings here. So narrow-minded is the author that he even disparages Advaita Vendata, which is a very legitimate school within the Hindu tradition. Describes India's greatest 20th century saint, Ramana Maharshi, who was an Advaita sage/teacher as teaching "Shaivism"; not clear if due to ignorance or confusion. In some of his other writings, Mr. Knapp also criticizes Shankara for corrupting Hinduism (Shankara is generally considered as historically the most famous teacher of Advaita). Preaches horrible punishments to anyone who is not a vegetarian. Does not seem to feel that any other branch of Hinduism, much less any other religion, has any redeeming merit. The author is a vociferous advocate of, literally, a "personal god," which most Westerners studying Eastern spiritual traditions are not interested in, since they most likely would have stayed being Christians if they felt that that a "personal god" resonated with them (I will note for interest that even Joseph Campbell explicitly told a priest who was asking him about beliefs that he does not believe in a personal god). I felt dirty and sullied upon reading the book; it lowered my vibration, instead of raising it. If you would like an open-hearted and loving discourse on Hinduism, I would recommend instead "Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi."Namaste.

There is about 10 minutes worth of information in this book. It could have been condensed into a 1 or 2 page magazine article. Absolutely nothing on "Run & Grow". Absolutely no advice or strategy presented at all. The information could be gleaned in about a 5 minute cocktail conversation and a 5 minute internet search. I was hoping for much, much more in the way of strategy and nuance to be able to use the full power of this type of organization.

All of middle school through college I was always involved with some kind of charitable non profit organization. Now that i'm older and have the money, I was looking for ways to give back by potentially starting my own non profit organization. Feeling lost, someone recommended this guide. It definitely gives you a step by step path on where to get started and eventually get things running. I have already started to apply some of it's advice into practice. Check it out.

A short yet thorough resource on starting a nonprofit business. The author gets right down to specifics, even listing different business types that qualify as nonprofits. I appreciated the variety of marketing techniques explained, plus the author even goes into the tax side of the business, which I didn't expect (but it's important!)

There is a lot of great information about starting a nonprofit in here. I feel much more knowledgeable on the topic now and more prepared to move forward with the process.

Lately, the idea of opening a nonprofit is becoming very popular. Some people want to genuinely help others that is why they want to open one, and then there are others that want to open a charity under the nonprofit charitable organization just make money. Poems only, no tales as advertised. Why did the publisher choose such a misleading title? You're only getting half of what you paid for but at full price.

Absolutely in love with this book! I got the Barnes & Noble leatherbound edition. It's a beautiful and well made book with metallic silver edged pages and a red ribbon page marker. All the poems and tales I was hoping for, and then some. All in all a little over 1000 pages. I could go on...but time to dive in! 📖

I feel rather cheated. Despite the title and boastful description on this particular format, not a single tale is included. The formatting is no different than if it was merely a paper copy of a webpage, with what seem to have been hyperlinks to the notes and table of contents.I ordered the paperback, which is pictured here on Amazon, and expected a complete collection; instead, I only got his poetry and a few works of prose, without any short stories or "The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket".If you order, I caution you not to order the paperback version, as it appears to be the only one with this problem judging by reviews.

One of the best collections of Edgar Allen Poe out there. This is a good value all around. Has a few stories that are hard to find and I appreciate the order of the book. The synopsis of his life and times in the beginning really helps the reader get into the strange time and place in American history that Edgar Allen Poe lived in.

This edition collects all of Poe's fiction and poetry in a single volume, including The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Pit and the Pendulum,." "The Raven," "Annabel Lee," the full-length novel "The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket", and much more.Yet this book contains no tales and only poems, this is such a misleading title and very unfair to people purchasing this book.

Chose this book to read for my high school class because I love Poe's work. The book pages aren't numbered, there are these strange question marks in boxes everywhere. It seems as if the storied were taken from a computer and printed out. The book is really cheaply made and the quality is horrible. I would send it back and get a different copy but my homework is due in two days...

Can't believe I fell for the title of this book without looking at the reviews! It is just the poems, even though the title says it includes the complete tales and poems. Glad I just got the kindle and I didn't pay the full price for the book.

I had forgotten how beautiful and lyrical E.A.Poe's poetry is,along with with his compelling tales. And here are the requisite extra words to fulfill the dumb word quota. Sometimes one word with no title is more than adequate. I hardly ever leave reviews because of the word and title rules. Which is a shame because at least giving stars should be counted for the author's work.That said, with the complete collection you can dip in and out on a whim. Everyone (yes, everyone) should give Poe a try.

Save yourself a few bucks and buy the three-book package deal—The War Planners, The War Stage, and Pawns of the Pacific. A timely plot—the Chinese conspire to take over America militarily, then economically and politically. Watts effectively narrows a grand scheme to a small number of well-drawn, interesting characters. Lots of accurate armed services action and jargon. A very good explanation of bitcoins and their uses. So—entertaining and educational.

Outstanding character development, when you feel like the story may be a bit dragging, there is a sudden twist that takes you by surprise, and on a new path. Deeply engrossing book, as I found it difficult to put it down. I recommend this series highly as the author has credibility and thoughtfulness.

I enjoyed this book not only for the skill of the author, but also for his ability to craft a tale that seems possible in today's world. I purchased the series, books 1-3, which were read entirely as if it was a single book. I would have been extremely disappointed if I had purchased only the first book and was required to purchase separately books 2 and 3 in order to understand the entire tale. Generally I stay away from "series " books because I don't want to be left hanging at the end of each book. I'm OK if the author uses the same characters in a different adventure, but will quickly abandon any author who leaves me hanging after the first book of a series! Each book should stand on its own with a beginning and an ending.

I just finished reading the War Planners Series 1-3. This is a series written by an author who knows his audience and his craft. Having lived much of what he is writing about Andrew Watts is an able craftsman in putting it into book form. All three of this books are very readable and hard to put down. Anyone interested in modern warfare, international intrigue, or plausible international conflicts should read this series.

Unaware of War Planners, I read Glidepath and Assassin's Game first and love all of them! Andrew got me wondering about Bitcoin and there's a documentary of it on Netflix that I have to watch now. The plots are amazing and frankly, I got attached to the Manning family and actually cried for them in the end but ... I'm a softy! These are great read if you like accurate military and aviation jargon. Andrews "roots" are showing.

This trilogy, with a 4th volume in the works, is riveting. The characters, their interactions and development, were concise, engaging the emotions and the intellect almost biographically. The high regard Andrew has for our military and intelligence apparatus, and utter disdain for those who don't deserve the honor of commanding men and women nor this great nation, came through clear as crystal. His well-researched knowledge of our military and tactical abilities, and our adversaries, have a solid platform for non-stop, edge-of-the-seat action and adventure. This was as good as any Clancy writings, and I am huge fan of Tom Clancy and his stable of writers (RIP). It has left me with a heart-felt "May I have some more?" bursting from my lips. Hoorah!

This is the best book of any sort I have read in a long time. It has it all. There are military and intelligence aspects of war which are unusually convincing. Even though I have extensive experience in both areas I found nearly all the descriptions to be accurate with only a few small and unimportant exceptions that someone without a very high level security clearance just wouldn't know. Character development is unusually good with both individual characters and even an entire family described in a way they come to life. The plot and theme of the story is exciting and believable even though (thank goodness) it is the author's creation rather than a reflection of reality. I would recommend this volume of three books to anyone who likes to read fiction and especially those who like military and intelligence adventure stories.
