Great book. Very excellent for those of us that grew up loving and cherishing 90's pop culture. The topics covered range from fashion trends (footwear like L.A. Lights, girl trends like scrunchies, etc.), toys (Beanie Babies, Furby's, Skip-It's), and much more, including movies, tv shows, sports (the Chicago Bulls!), etc. There's a lot of diversity here, and it's almost guaranteed that anyone of any age growing up in the 90's will find something they were fond of back in the day. Rollerblades, boy bands, pogs, tamagotchis, Goosebumps books, Power Wheels - it's just so much 90's goodness!The book itself is a very high quality print. Each page is thick, rich in color, and loaded with pictures. Chapters are short and can be read through in just a few minutes time (for the most part). Each write-up is fairly comprehensive and each section begs to be read and re-read over and over again. It's almost like flipping through a magazine. It even comes with an iron on transfer, a very popular gimmick magazines and such used to employ all the time.My one complaint is that the book would've been much more perfect if it were a large-sized coffee table book. And, although the book does a good job covering a lot of material, I really feel like it's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to pop culture. There's a lot more that could have been covered, and a plethora of other topics just ripe for the picking. I also wish it covered more famous 90's events and news stories, but that's just me. Hope Amber Humphrey puts out another one of these!

90's kids, ready for an influx of nostalgia? Well, this book has quite the lotful to awaken the 90's in you. There's not only colorful text in the book, there're also pictures in it. Blossom's fashion, New Kids on the Block, Pogo, Urkel, there's so much 90's in here it'll take me hours to explain what to expect. Recommended for those who've lived out their childhoods in the 90's.

This one of those books you can read again and again. You walk down memory lane with it. I was born in 1983 and I am the same age as the author so, I remember everything she mentioned and it hit me at the same point in my life as it did the author. If you like thinking back to an easier time when Captain Planet was cool, Super Soakers were allowed and not thought of as a precursor to real guns, you spent your time watching Nick and Disney and loved TGIF then this is the book for you!

This is the 90's book I've been searching for. I've read a few other books about the 90's, some better than the others, but this is definitely the best I've come across. It's in full color, rather exhaustive, and funny. This is a book a recommend to anyone who grew up in the 90's and one I will definitely reread in the future. I hope the author will continue her work and write a volume 2.

This book is just ok. It could have had waaaay more info and better pictures. I feel like i could have throw this together myself in about 2 weeks :/

Hard enough to believe, but people have become nostalgic for the '90s and this book is crammed with a lot of the most-remembered pop culture of that era. Well designed, lots of photos and illustrations, great explanatory text.

I have loved beautiful poetry for most of my life. Even though I have read numerous poems written by Asian women over the years I only read a few poems from American women poets. When I saw this 234 page soft cover book (Great Poems by American Women: An anthology edited by Susan L. Rattiner) on Amazon for a bargain price I decided to purchase it.This wonderful volume has poems from a large group of excellent women poets. Some of the best female poets are included in this collection. There are poems from Anne Bradstreet, Ann Eliza Bleeker, Phillis Wheatley, Susanna Haswell Rowson, Lydia Huntley Sigourney, Sarah Helen Whitman, Harriet Beecher Stove, Julia Ward Howe, Fanny Cosby, Frances E. W. Harper, Emily Dickinson (one of my favorite American poets), Margaret E. Sangster, Katharine Lee Bates, Harriet Monroe, Gwendolyn Brooks, and many other excellent women poets.If you love poetry you should check out this fantastic collection of poems from American women.Rating: 5 Stars. There are many interesting and beautiful poems in the book, the majority of which I did not know - I felt inspired to look for more work by some of the poets. But it is not a diverse collection. I have a hard time imagining that there are only five African American women poets worth publishing in the whole time the book covers, 1600 to 2000, heavy on the 18th and 19th centuries.. And there appear to be no Hispanic, Native American or other women from diverse backgrounds worth a spott. i hope that someone publishes a collection of poetry by a more diverse group of American women poets.

This is an extremely thin book and the paper quality is reflected in the low price. Still, it's an excellent buy for a whole lot of women's poetry at a really affordable price. It's a great book for the homeschool, bedtime read-alouds or as a stocking stuffer, or just to keep in your purse to read through and discover new poems and poets while waiting for the train or the kids or the doctor's appointment.

If you like poetry there is no way you could not like it except for that fact that it does not include enough of the well known & loved female poets such as Edna St Vincent Millay

This book spans more than three centuries of women’s verse and includes more than 200 poems from 74 poets. The book is organized by the birthdates of the poets and does not contain any living women poets. It is a wonderful collection of favorite poems that also includes brief bios...a treasure trove of words and wisdom.

These poems will stir your soul; If it were possible I would have checked: hopeful, dark, nostalgic, light-hearted, and thoughtful.

The book was concise, starting from oldest to newest. Very enjoyable, great bedside book. I bought another as a gift. You really can't beat Dover Thrift value.

This has a great collection of classic poetry in it. The book has many more pages than I had expected. Great deal and great value!

The author set out to provide detailed instructions for setting up a landscaping/ lawn business and succeeded in doing this.After reading this book, the reader will have more than enough information to know how to start and run a business.I found this book to be very informative and recommend it for the following reasons:- if you are in the landscaping business or trying to decide if that is the business for you, then this book will show you how to shop for the right equipment, provide you with information on the procedures and practices required in starting your new business. The case studies in the book provide information on how others have built their businesses. If you are not in the landscaping business, this book provides you with great information too. You can skip Section 2 which deals Landscaping as a business, and use the outstanding information in the remaining sections. Information such as: characteristics of a small business; the book talks about, "Passion" being a prime ingredient. A successful business is "more than a business to its owner". It encourages you to know yourself before you start a business, and to plan for success while branding your business.This is simply a great book for any person interested in starting a business, any kind of business -outdoor or otherwise.However, I feel that the title of this book may prevent business owners in a different niche from purchasing it, because they may assume that it deals specifically with starting an outdoor business, which unfortunately is not the case at all.I rate this book as a 4 star.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, especially since I had just read Bobbie Brown's "Dirty Rocker Boys" Book- which was basically about him. I wanted to get Tommy's point of view about their relationship. But she didn't get one mention from him. Nothing?! Only Pamela mentions "someone named Bobbie Brown." Really? He only was engaged to Bobbie, and had her name tattooed on his neck- which he didn't recommend doing. But as with her, he didn't really go into detail about his relationship with his ex Heather either. It's almost like Pamela had final edit approval (removal) over that.The beginning of the book was just the worst- his private anatomy "talks" and he describes his "skills." Ugh. Aside from that, it's an ok book- he goes from ridiculous to almost down-to-earth, and back again. He was surprisingly close to his parents, but you won't learn too much more about him from this book, oh, and he likes the word "craise."

This is not quite 5 stars for me, but it was well worth my time and the purchase price. I read it over a three day period and I got tons of enjoyment out of it. I'm really glad that I read this book to get Tommy's personal take on several different things that happened to him, especially being married to Heather Locklear and Pamela Anderson. I was also interested in Tommy's account of going to jail, about a young boy that sadly died in his pool, and the passing of his father, being raised by his parents etc. Of course, many other great topics and stories are covered. I think a better rating would be about 4.6 stars, because that represents a percentage of the book that I totally enjoyed. The .4 remaining I sometimes felt was rather dumb, but it's not a big deal. I got many good giggles from the entertaining way Tommy expresses himself. I am familiar with Anthony Bozza and he does an excellent job finding the voice of the person he's writing for. I really felt that the writing style was completely Tommy talking. I can't guarantee someone else will like this, but it was good for me. It's not exactly the self-improvement type of book that I like to read, but I felt that in my own context of life, I identified with Tommy in a certain way. I've been epically misunderstood, and I think Tommy is misunderstood. The man personifies the idea of a rock star. He's wickedly talented. Post Motley Crue, it's probably true to say that he's the most talented of the four in that bunch. A true artist. Seemingly a lovable guy. That is all. :)

Entertaining, insightful and fun. Glad he didn't do the play by play of motley crue. It's been done to death. The book was about HIM. A lot of reviews complain about the notes from his famous appendage. I found them to be totally tongue in cheek, fitting of his personality. Most of these books are ego trips about all the groupies, this book went in depth about his marriages, kids and the hell he went through in jail. Good, fast read.

I am huge fan of Motley Crue and of Tommy Lee as a drummer. Was disappointed in this. If you know him then you already know that a certain part of his anatomy has been a major part of his life and don't need him talking from his ****'s point of view. Would rather he just talk honestly about his relationships.

To me this seemed like "Let's write a short book and make some fast money." If you're going to write a book, write a book, not just a few chapters of chosen parts of your life. Most guys don't have conversations with our dick, and having it chime in throughout the book made it even worse. His short "responses"to his editor in England only made him sound like a pompous ass. Aside from that, it was great...

First of all that is a straight five-star read. Why? Because those are just one person's thoughts on the life he's lived, and other stuff. Makes sense to either agree or disagree. It's all in the disclaimer, so just give it a quick look before either committing to the story, or walking away.I do have a habit of judging books by either the aftertaste they leave, or the amount of fun I had while reading them. This is by far one of the most fun reads, and I it's amazing, because there are no underdeveloped characters, most of the events are surreal, and overall it was a read worth spending 2 days on (and some bucks).So, if you decide to read it, get used to the fact that sometimes you would think "there it is, you said it, so true", and sometimes you would shake your head no, but you might learn something.It's also partly a more simple, not overdramatic look at the same events from the Dirt, and Heroin Diaries. Anyway, apparently it's time to move on to next autobiography).

I enjoyed this book. It was definitely written in Tommy's voice which made it feel genuine. He's lived a crazy life and was upfront about it and didn't try to make himself look better or like a victim. This book was funny, honest, and made him a lot more relatable in my opinion. If you enjoyed The Dirt you'll probably enjoy this: give it a read.

I love Motley Crue, but this book did not keep my interest. I finished it in hope's it would get better, but it didn't. I've seen Motley Crue several times , and like the book , it seems good at first, like their first show, but like their last show, it only got more boring. But the bad concerts was Vince Neil's for forgetting the words.. Tommy does great live... he should stick to music, not writing.

I like all of Moceanu's Go-For-Gold books - as father of a 8-y old aspiring gymnast. She devours them too, avidly, reading at levels much higher than her grade. Moceanu's books are not only about gymnastics, although there's plenty of this too, but also about building friendships, differentiating between true and false friends, teamwork, and striving for goals. And yes, even introductory romance. I encourage parents to read the books too - they provide plenty of grist-for-the-mill for family discussions.

I served in Vietnam in 1967-68 in a support role, and was always amazed by the resilience of the Viet Cong in facing off against the most powerful military on earth.This book is AMAZING! It explains why and how the Vietnamese were able to endure unbelievable hardships to outlast the greatest power on earth. When I was in Saigon during the Tet Offensive, I marveled at how the Viet Cong could muster the forces needed to attack so many cities at the same time......the tunnels provide one answer...There are many lessons to be learned from this book......some which should have been learned much earlier by American Leadership. The key lesson for me was that TECHNOLOGICAL SUPERIORITY doesn't always result in eventual victory. History is replete with this lesson, going back to our own Revolution, when the British had the most powerful military on the planet, but eventually lost the American colonies. More recently, the Russians learned their hard lesson when they took on the Afghanistan people and eventually had to withdraw in spite of overwhelming military advantages. America could have avoided many of the lives lost in Vietnam had the leadership of the time remembered the lessons of the past.However, as evidenced by the more recent occupation of Iraq, when the leadership attempted to occupy a totally fractured country with too few troops, it took us over ten years to untangle ourselves from a mess we helped to create......in fact we are STILL embroiled there.The other lesson I've learned is this.....While I'm very supportive of HELPING other nations protect themselves, but THEY MUST TAKE THE LEAD in their own defense......if the populous isn't willing to do that, any regime we prop up will eventually fail.Lastly, I salute the soldiers who bravely fought this "underground war". They are truly among the very few who would be willing to do a job that most of us would never do. They deserve the special recognition that I believe this book delivers.

I found it very well-balanced in terms of telling both sides, though conservative readers might find it too sympathetic to the communists. Some amazing and terrifying stories. Makes you appreciate modern comforts, such as, you know, not living underground for years at a time.

Loved the book. As a 25th Division infantryman in 69/70 I was familiar with the base camp at Cu Chi although I spent my tour in near by Tay Ninh province. Always amazed by the mental and physical strength of the VC and this book proves why.

I spent some time in Cu Chi, 25th inf, so naturally the topic was of interest. What I found so wonderful was the quality of the writing and most importantly the writers ability to share both the G.I. and V.C. side of that tragic waist of life and dollars. I was unable to put it down. Even if your not a Military history buff but appreciate a talented writers ability to tell a story , you will like this book

Everyone should read this book. They will discover things they probably never thought of about these tinnels. I could not imagine having tunnels so big they had hospitals too plus many other things. They had different elevations or floors. The men who lived or served here were a special group who took take the darkness, little air at times and the dirt of course. Our own soldiers that explored them were a very brave group to even dare go into a hole inthe ground so small. Kind of a long story yet very good reading and one you really want to keep reading.

This is one of the best books on the Vietnam War, mainly because it includes a great deal of insightful perspective from the the other side - namely the Vietcong. It also highlights American tactical failures absent from most American histories. For example, placing the 25th Infantry Division main base of operations virtually on top of the enemy's biggest tunnel complex and never recognizing that fact. At times the narrative becomes plodding and I'll ding it a star for that, but I'd only take half that star away if I could.

This is one of the best books I have read on Vietnam. It shows both sides of the war. Those that should read this book are those that called Vietnam soldiers baby and women killers. Read this book and see what they were up against. They didn't deserve the bad rap they got. Thank You Vietnam veterans.

Stated couldn't find many GI tunnel rats and spent most of the book interviewing VC. I was based out of Cu Chi for half my tour (1967) and found the book not as I remembered.
