Beautiful Mandalas to color. Quite a few designs to keep you coloring. Some of the designs have very small detail areas. Other designs are simple. I gave it 4 stars because the paper is thin so if you use markers or fineliners you may want to put a few pages behind the one you are coloring or something thick to stop bleed through. Pics included of a few mandalas.
I was so excited to get this book. Upon opening it I found that the Mandalas were partially to mostly shaded in black by the artist. Isn't it the point for the person coloring to decide on the color, not the author? In the beginning of the book, the author suggests you try shading to make the artwork pop. If you are using any medium that is wet like gel pens, the paper buckles. The quality of the paper is low grade. I would have rather the publisher have put money into using a better quality paper than a four color illustration on the cover. The book is used now, I cannot sell it. Sorely disappointed.
Very good variety of mandalas. Each mandala is single sided but I still put a piece of paper between pages. I find them very relaxing. I use Color Technik gel pens to color them and get the colors even.
Love coloring mandalas, the only thing that would make it better is pages that tear out easily
These last few coloring books I've purchased have turned out to be some of the best I've seen to date. I like them to be at an advanced skill level because they are more of a challenge than some of the other books I've purchased. Good paper for the markers and colored pencils I use. I would recomend this book to friends.
I love this book! Pages are single sided and the paper is substantial enough for gel pens and markers. Lots of variety in the styles of mandalas and the degree of detail which I like. Best of all, when you buy this book, you are helping to fund art education in public schools which is a great cause!
I have been coloring for many months and love it. Gives a creative outlet and stress reduction, which is most important for chronic medical conditions I have. Learned that I love mandalas - no rhyme or reason to color choice, grab any pencil and color. These mandalas go from very easy to very intense (small areas), so I can choose what I am in the mood for. Best part of this purchase from Art and Color Press, they help fund art education in public school, which so many schools have cut. So color and support art education at the same time.
I love the mandalas in this book but the prints are so small that you cant even color them in! I was shocked to see that the lines were so thin and the designs were so intricate that there is barely any white space to put color. Disappointed.
